Jeweled Skeleton Angel with Crown | Hand Painted Gothic Decor

There are some pieces that seem to develop their own personality as I work on them, and this was definitely one of those.

This resin skeleton angel has been completely reimagined by hand with a beautifully aged, timeworn finish that brings out the incredible detail throughout the skeletal form and large feathered wings. Subtle touches of warm metallic color catch across the feathers, adding just enough richness against the weathered black and white finish.

The oversized jeweled crown has been individually altered and embellished, giving it an aged golden appearance and an elaborate rhinestone centerpiece. Against the worn finish of the skeleton, all of that sparkle creates a contrast I absolutely love—decadent, a little macabre, and wonderfully unexpected.

Layers of rhinestone strands drape across the body, joined by an ornate black-and-white cameo and jeweled key. There is a collected quality to all of it, almost as though these treasures were accumulated over time rather than simply added as decoration.

Despite the skeletal form, I don’t see this as something that needs to be packed away after Halloween. It would be equally at home year-round among old books, antique frames, curiosities and other collected pieces.

The crown is removable and is not permanently attached to the figure.

Because each element has been finished and assembled by hand, this particular combination and finish is unique to this piece.
