Hand-Painted Vintage-Inspired Reindeer Set

This little pair started out as simple black resin reindeer, but I wanted them to have the look of something that had been tucked into Christmas decorations for generations.

I completely refinished each one by hand, building up a softly textured, timeworn ivory finish with warm aged detailing that brings out the antlers, faces and sculpted texture of the original figures. I also molded and hand painted their miniature evergreen wreath collars, finishing them with tiny pinecones and muted red berries.

The set includes two coordinating reindeer — one standing and one resting — so they make a lovely little vignette together without taking up much room. Their quiet, aged palette works especially well with collected Christmas decor, old-world holiday pieces, cottage interiors and vintage-inspired displays.

They would be beautiful tucked onto a mantel, bookshelf, side table or amongst greenery and candles for Christmas.
