A functional accent with just the right amount of personality.
This cast iron black cat was completely sanded back to the raw metal before I carefully rebuilt the finish by hand. To complete the design, I created a handmade ruffled collar and refinished a decorative crown by hand, painting and embellishing it before placing it atop the cat's head.
The upright tail is designed to hold rings, keys, bracelets, hair ties, and other small accessories while the heavy cast iron construction makes it substantial enough to double as a decorative paperweight or light interior door stop.
Whether displayed on an entryway table, vanity, bookshelf, office desk, or dresser, this charming cat offers both beauty and everyday function.
