Artist Transformed Gothic Masquerade Bust | Hand Painted Resin Sculpture | Victorian Halloween Decor

Some pieces don’t need to be completely reinvented—they simply need someone to imagine what they could become.

This decorative resin bust began as a commercially produced sculpture before being completely transformed by hand in my studio. I sculpted her masquerade mask, then repainted the entire piece using multiple layers to create an aged, weathered stone appearance with subtle skeletal detailing. She was finished with pink velvet ribbon woven through her hair, a black velvet cameo choker, and a protective sealer.

Rather than creating a frightening Halloween decoration, my goal was to create a piece that feels as though she has quietly watched over an old Victorian manor for generations.

She displays beautifully during Halloween but is equally at home in gothic, Victorian, haunted mansion, dark academia, and apothecary-inspired interiors throughout the year.

Because every finish is completed by hand, no two artist-transformed pieces will ever age or distress exactly alike.
